Angry Bad idling after cam install. Timing???

So this weekend I put a new head on my 87 crx si. I also put a nice performance cam in there from delta cams. I did everything to spec and nothing is leaking at all, but the thing has a bouncing idle and acts like it wants to die when just sitting. It performs great when i put power to it but im stuck on this issue. Im thinking its the idle control sensor is bad but I cant find the darn thing on the car or in my book. Any ideas. The timing is in advance to but it acts like the timing is overly retarded. I double checked the valve lash and the positions of the cam lobes at top dead center and all is good there too. Im totaly lost. Thanks in a dvance for any help.

Unhappy

It looks like the timing is still too far down. It knocks while sputtering. This is drivin me crazy. I wont have a timing light until tomarrow. Is overly retardrd timing something thats gonna kill my motor? I dont even want to drive the thing until i get a light but i have to go to work.

Re: She idles so rough

Try turning the distributor towards the front of the car.. If that doesn't help, then it might be more than your timing.

Talking Re: Re: She idles so rough

It was off 19 degrees, had to adjust the cam pulley. I advanced the timing and the car idles much better. I had to adjust the idle adjustment screw as well. It definatly needs a good tuning by a pro though so I made an appointment for monday morning. It runs way better now though. Thanks for the help.
