99 4 Runner antenna and remote

99 4 Runner- the antenna is not going up ,can I disconnect it or how do I fix it .Also the remote takes about 20times to open the door.Can I go to local battery store or do I have to go to Toyota for a new battery.

I just replaced our antenna last month, word to the wise, spend the extra money and buy it from the dealer. It sucks a t the price of $125.00 but all you need to do is unbolt the passenger side wheel well and disconect and plug the new one in.Secondly you have to only pry off the plastic near the shifter and unscrew 4 screws on the radio, and pull it out to connect the new cable. Or unscrew the antenna on the top of the fender and more then likely the the white plastic track is broke, you can replace just the track for $49.00. The battery issue seems to be the same problem for ours, just go to a walmart and get a new battery, they seem to go dead every 8 months on ours.
