I deleted your other post since this is basically the same information. First what size engine and what year is your car. This will help us to determine how to help you. Second, you will need to allow the car to cool thoroughly and then work on removing the air. You can do this by removing the radiator cap on either the reservoir or the radiator itself and start the car. Once the thermostat opens the air should come out and you should be able to refill the system at that point. It is much easier if your radiator cap is on the radiator since the air will come out easily. If you park the vehicle on a hill or incline with the nose uphill it will also facilitate air removal.
Also based on your statement the air will gradually come out as the engine cools it will pull coolant from the reservoir into the radiator as you have already experienced. Keep refilling it to the top and it should suck in the coolant it needs but it will take a while.
