Do I really need to install an intercooler running a 3.0 pulley?
If so what brand? And how hard to install.

With your current mods, what amount of knock retard (KR) are you seeing?

Right now no KR at all.

Thats good. Our mods are similar less the racing tranny and cam. I've heard that going to an intercooler with a 3.0 or less pulley is recommended but not mandatory. I know guys locally running 3.0 and 2.8 pulleys with no intercooler. But IMO it is based on KR, if any. In your case it probably wouldn't hurt to go for it. After the mod just double check the KR again. The other item recommended is going to the next size up fuel injectors on the smaller 3.0 and less pulleys.

If you decide to install the 3.0 pulley let me know how it turns out. I might get one too. I've got a modular pulley system so the swap out is very easy. Good luck!

No problem and you are welcome. Here is a guide for the GY Gatorback SC belt:

- 4060660 belt = 3.25” - 3.4” pulleys 66.0" long
- 4060650 belt = 2.9” - 3.1” pulleys 65.0" long
- 4060642 belt = 2.7” - 2.85” pulleys 64.2" long
