Angry Heater Core

So in February the heater core on my 2002 CRV went out. I tcost us about $800 to replace and we were without a car for a week. Well, tonight as I was driving home the heater was having a hard time and I looked at the floor on the passenger side and there was fluid all over the floor! Just like last time!!!!! So not even a year later the heater core has blown AGAIN! Anyone else encounter this problem? Any suggestions on what I should do? I looked at our repair work and it doesn't say that there was any kind of warranty. This really SUCKS!

Re: Heater Core

its the heater core itself or the lines. if you you want to save yourself tons of cash, pull the dash out and give it a look. its not hard, just time consuming. check the lines to see if they are leaking anywhere. break in the lines? improperly clamped on from the last install? you wont know until you check. if its not the lines and the heater core is broken again, you can just find a barb at home depot, pull the two lines out, and join them together. you wont have heat, but, you also wont leak anymore since you have the dash out at this point, now you can just buy the heater core yourself and replace it yourself later on in time and save hundreds on labor.

also wouldnt hurt to call honda concerning the warranty coverage.

PS: if you dont want to take out the dash and want to just bypass the heater core completely with minimal effort. just connect the two lines in the engine bay going to the heater core with a barb as mentioned above. id personally would still rip out the dash, just to look
