Angry Fucking Idiots!!!

It would seem that in this day and age standards of respectable business conduct and punctuality have slipped from excellence to mediocrity, at best. The fact that I started this huge Integra project of mine, i.e. new engine and doing work to make it boost higher and make more power, over a year ago (I started ordering parts May 30, 2001) and it's still not done stands to support my claim above. Let me move on to the stress releasing subject of this thread.

I've ordered a new barebone computer, so that I can use almost all of my existing equipment, but replace my aging and slow microprocessor, and work around a mysterious bug in the way my computer saves information (it chronically thinks it has bad clusters, yet apparently does not). I placed the order on May 17th, and they said it would ship by May 20th. I was supposed to call and complain if I did not receive delivery by May 28th. I was nice enough to wait until May 31st to call, at which time they told me that they had had some back ordering problem, and that my computer did not actually ship until May 30th. Fine, so what's done is done. They told me it would arrive June 4th.

Quick interjection of relevant details here: my building is part of a complex of about 10 buildings, which all have small mailboxes for each apartment in the lobby. If you receive a package, it is either held at the local branch Post Office (if delivered by U.S. Mail), or delivered to the office of the property management building (if delivered by Fed Ex, UPS, or similar courier service), which has an entire room devoted specifically for the purpose of holding said packages; tenants can retrieve them with a photo I.D. during business hours (8:30 to 5:30).

Depending on who delivers your package, most of the delivery personnel know to leave packages in the office, where they are secure. But some of them insist on leaving you a "delivery attempt" notice, and say that they will return to "re-attempt" delivery the following day. I rushed home from work yesterday to be here before 5:30, only to find such a notice. Do they actually think working folk will take time to stay at home in order to receive a fucking package? Before leaving for work this morning, I took the time to write a note to Fed Ex, asking them to please leave my package in the management office. Turns out that they decided to clean the lobby of my building today, so the morons took down my sign before Fed Ex ever got a chance to see it. So I was once again greeted with a "delivery attempt" notice after hurrying home to be here before 5:30. Is it safe to say that they are out to piss me off???

Looks like I'll need to call Fed Ex tonight to make sure they know to leave my package in the management office, and that tomorrow I'll once again need to rush home to be here before 5:30. And since I ordered on May 17th, and paid extra for "priority," two to six day delivery, it is extremely frustrating that it is now June 5th and I still have no new computer. Please note that with the slowest delivery option, I still should have already had my computer for a week already.

At this point, I'll conclude by recapping: FUCKING IDIOTS!!! :zx11pisse

Well JD as you know, I feel your pain now. Seems we can really relate on the subject of unreliability. Why is it that no one can do what they originally say they will. Is it that hard?? If I had customer service skills like some of these people I’d be out of a job.

Half of the problem is that most 'customer service' type jobs are classed as unskilled and pay peanuts.Excellent customer service is a rare and valuable skill, but too many of those who can do it are put off the job because the rewards are so poor.

Sad but true. The good news is that in posting, I did relieve some stress and I feel somewhat better. Thanks for your responses

delivery problems........

I live in a 200+ unit condo complex. Last year the post office must have had a new delivery person on my route as one day 4 different families mail was stuffed into my mailbox. I delivered the other family's mail as I figured they would miss them, then I complained to the district postal office and they said that it was indeed a new delivery person on the route and that a supervisor would be riding with him tomorrow to monitor his performance. On the next day, I ONLY GOT 2 FAMALIES MAIL!!!!!!!!!! I'm not a wizard in math but I guess on the bright side that was a 50% improvement! I hope the supervisors supervisor monitors him because I've lost drivers licenses and bills in the mail. I even received my neighbors tax return! It's a good thing most of my neighbors are GOOD PEOPLE!
