Does anybody know how to disable the ac from automatically turning on when defrost is selected?

Re: Re: Disable AC with defroster

Most cars don't allow disabling the AC compressor with the defroster for good reason.

1. It is the best way to ensure the compressor runs during winter months. If the compressor went for a full winter without ever running it would most likely lock up due to internal corrosion.

2. The air conditioning runs through a coild called an evaporator. This evaporator is cold which removes moisture through the air by causing condensation. Since winter air is often moist, removing that moisture helps clear your windshield of frost.
