Left blinker problem
i was just looking for some direction on this small problem... no left turn signal... the four ways work fine... the right blinker works... good bulb (replaced it for fun) haynes says to check the relay but there is no relay for the blinker... and if there was would it be for all of them... fuse is good, the only thing i havenb't done yet is trace the wires to see if there's a broken wire... but i suck at reading electrical drawings so i'm kinda stumped. help please

Re: Left blinker problem
There is a flasher relay somewhere. On later trucks it's on the under dash fuse block. You can switch on the right blinker and you should be able to locate the relay by sound or feel.

Re: Left blinker problem
I did some searching this morning and found a link that has body electrical wiring diagrams for Toyota, Mazda and GM. In the options column on the left find the Toyota hazard and turn signal page. It looks as if Toyota uses the same flasher relay for the hazard lights and the directional signals. You said the right signal and all four hazard lights work. That would indicate the flasher relay and light bulbs are good, as is most of the wiring. That would point to a problem in the signal light switch or in the left turn wiring that is not also use in the hazard circuit. I don't know any way to fix it without tracing out the possible problem area on a wiring diagram and testing the components with a meter. Or. you can guess and change the switch, it's probably expensive. Your Haynes manual should show how to check the switch. Although it appears the relay is good, relays aren't very expensive so you may want to try it first. If you do find the problem let us know what you found. That information may help someone else.
