it definitely is not a hard job. all you need is a drain pan, possibly an oil filter wrench, and something to put the old oil into for recycling. All you do is get under car and locate the oil pan. this is easy to see. on the bottom of the oil pan will be a bolt. Get a wrench and loosen this. when the bolt comes out, the oil will pour into the drain pan. when this is finished draining, locate the oil filter, which looks like a small can. it should be near the pan. loosen this and be careful as oil will come from it too. when you prepare to put the new filter on, rub some fresh oil around the edge on the rubber gasket. position and then hand tighten. make sure the drain plug is back on and tight, and then add the correct amount of oil through the filler cap located on the valve cover. start engine and let run. RECHECK the oil level as some will be housed in the filter, and more may be needed. that is all!!
PS for colder weather, use 5W-30...it is thinner and circulates better in colder weather. good luck!!

if you are new to working on cars, or even just new to working on _this_ car, i would suggest getting your hands on the manual.

for a meager 15 bucks you can have a chilton's or haynes manual from the local parts store which will walk you through things like oil changes in great detail, much more than the previous poster gave.

he's right, but inherent in a paragraph summary of how to change oil are a handful of things he might take for granted that a manual will divulge.

and its worth 15 bucks no matter if you change your oil or not, no matter how you slice it.
