Hmm, Castrol F1's? IIRC the only F1's with Castrol sponsorship were the early short-tail GTR's, probably 003R -Art Soorts sponsored - and - West/East sponsored - and that had CASTROL under the headlights

Re: castrol le mans F1

The '96 DPR West car carried Castrol sponsorship. I think that was it

Just a minor correction - it is "Art Sports" not Art Soorts. The sponsoring company is division of a large Japanese firm with this particular division importing high-end cars to Japan. They sponsored the F40 effort in IMSA years ago.

i think ive ive had it for about 8 years?

or were they for some reason not allowed to use the name as a sponsor on the cars???

(also, for those of you that read it, i deleted the thread on the McLaren inspired chair)
i have that same model, and i am sure some of the pictures of this car on track show the same name

it hasn't got anything to do with the ruling like the East / West F1 cigarette deals, where in some countries you aren't allowed to have cigarette sponsorship on your race cars so the teams slightly change them to read sort of the same -
EG
Mclaren F1 team had drivers names instead of their cigarette sponsor in some races
Jordan F1 had buzzin hornets instead of Benson & Hedges
??

It was very clearly a 'p' on the side of the car:

On the model, it's either an error, or ArtSports wanted some kind of licensing fee that UT wasn't willing to pay.

I thought we had this discussion here once before, but I didn't find it with the search.
