This ever happen to anyone?LONG

I drive an 01 Mustang GT (though my username says otherwise)that is somewhat modded, and I don't claim to have the fastest car in the world or some crazy assed fast and the furious street racer, however I do street race from time to time if there is no other traffic in the way or a low chance of cops in the area. That being said... onto the story...

I was driving around town one Friday night, looking for a race on the highway where most of the other kids looking for races usually are. I know of a little gathering of people in my area that call themselves a "car club". These people supposedly have a reputation around here for being "bad-ass hardcore street racers", but everybody who isnt a total tard knows its all crap. This is the kind of car club where lambo doors means you're a god. So anyways, I drive around the area where this group of crappy civics posing as an elite racing team hangs out, hoping one of these guys will pull onto the road and give me a run for my money. So after basically circling around the empty parking lot where they meet for a half hour, I see a blue civic si pull onto the highway. I quickly speed up to see if this guy (who turned out to be the "leader" of the club) wants to have a friendly little race. Now I'm not saying that my car is amazing in anyway, but around here the only real car that's gonna beat me is an LS1. So I check for cops and get right next to this guy on the highway. We drive at the same speed for about 10 seconds and nobody goes for it. I roll down my window and proceed to point straight ahead, indicating that I want to race. He sees me but tries to ignore me. I speed up again as if to indicate that I want to race, he makes no move. I slow back down and again proceed to drive beside him. So after about a mile or 2 of highway I just give up and drive off. I go pick up my girlfriend and we drive around some more. I decided that I really want to end this night with a race. So I pull into the parking lot where the "car club" meets and I ask a person standing next to his little civic if he wants to race. His response was "It would just be a waste of my time, my friend in the blue civic said he just raced you and beat you twice". I tell him that that is complete bullshit and that there was no way he could beat me. The guy just insists that the race would be a waste of his gas (as much of a fuel hog as a civic ex is). So I just drive off and go home.

A scenario like this every happened to anyone?

Re: This ever happen to anyone?LONG

No, not yet, but I got beat by a honda in my mustang. Now, my mustang is no ordianry hot rod, its a 4cyl automatic with bald tires, and the honda was slightly tuned and lowered. We went through a couple turns and he lost me. He got back to tim hortons, had a coffee and set back out in the direction he came, crossing me gonig back into town. It was sad. But yeah, I feel your frustration, and I agree that its absolutely retarded that he says he beat you twice, when he didnt even race you. Lol thats the greatest I've heard. Anyway, I would say just go back there, hopefully on a night that they are all there, and challenge the blue civic right there in front of everyone. That way, if he denies, you know that you can catch him in a pickle, if he accepts, then you smoke his ass like it was last tuesday. The way you can catch him in a pickle is that he will deny, saying he beat you already. Dont lose your cool, just kinda nod and smirk. Everyone will probably be all up in your face about it, but this is where you throw him for a loop. Just say prove it. This way, hell probably get pressured into racing you to prove his allegation, plus his "club" will probably disprove him as the leader, after you smoke him. The rest is up to your pony. And then you shall bask in the sweet sensation of superiority.

Civicboy probably didn't have gas to get home, that's why he was standing there.

Next time they pull that shit pull out some money. I'm sure if you lay down $50 he'll want to race. If not you can call him a pussy who knows his car isn't fast enough to win an easy $50.

As for the fucktard in the Civic, I wouldn't worry. Ask him if he's so confident about his P.O.S. with half an engine if he's willing to put his money where his mouth is. Start flashing cash or demand to race for slips and pretty soon everybody will see things how they really ard.

Re: This ever happen to anyone?LONG

I would try and find similar cars to race, even if you had to go to the next town to do it.

Re: This ever happen to anyone?LONG

I have had that happen to me as well, except my story is a little more pathetic. I was on the freeway in my old banged up 65' GTO (I know my name is Civ, but I respect all cars) and I am driving 65mph on the freeway heading home, and I see someone's father driving a chevy truck, dually in primer slowly creeping up on me. I see this car creep by me in the fast lane and he was totally checking me out. I take the exit and go home. A few days later, so-and-so's son said his dad raced my GTO on the freeway and totally beat the living shit out of me. Did I miss something? Was he flooring it to go 68mph? Now the most pathetic part is, why would his father make up a BS story and try to impress his son? Second, why would I go out of my way to try to school his FATHER? The only car I raced was my best friend in his restored 70' chevelle. It just doesn't make any sense to me...

Wow ya'll some ricer/half motor civic haters, but I can also say the same bout you mustang, V8 loving domestics too. I love a nicely built classic muscle car but also love imports. See I'm a civic driver myself and no I don't claim my car is the fastest or go around messin with cars like I'm the shit but I do a little street racing my self and I see all them import hatin V6 mustang racers all. But when they try to come fuck with me, they get they ass handed to em. I know there are stupid peoples out there drivin Dseries civics and 4cylinder and 6cylinder stangs that think they all that too, but please don't make the assumption that all civic's are slow. Cause after beatin the v6 stangs, I can say Mustangs are slow too but not all. It all depends how a driver modifies and drives his car, no need to hate on those who actually does it right. So here's my story:

I'm cruisin down the strip mindin my own business, when a silver stang all of a suddens is on my ass and then rolls up next to me. He's rolls up next to me then passes me like he's so fast. But I know a V6 stang when I see one. So I'm like okay, I'll burn his azz. I down it into 3rd and catch up to him, he sees me and gives me the go and I floor it. Next thing I know, he's two cars behind and droppin and then decides to turn off out of shame. What say you? Are all Mustangs slow?

Re: This ever happen to anyone?LONG

The honda I respect is one of the 80's Prelude SI's. 2.0L motor makes 133hp, which can keep up with any late model stock 350. Those little 1.5L civics have nothing going for them though... mpg?

I'm not an import hater at all. In fact I've owned 2 honda myself (b16a crx and an H22 civic). I love seeing a fast car built for little amounts of money even if it is just a crappy honda in the end. But the imports around here are rediculous, they're everywhere! I mean these guys will have thousands of dollars dumped into their cars, which would be sweet if they would buy a performance upgrade other than the rice-can and a cheap intake. To the import crowd around here its all about getting attention from people who know nothing about cars and apparently not being able to beat people who do know a thing or two. I mean its spread onto my sister for christ's sake. Get this, she's borrowing 4 grand from my mom to put a turbo on her civic ex(d series), not for the performance gains, but for the fucking sound of the BOV. I mean....seriously....

And as for making a big scene and getting the person to race me, i dont really care enough to make a big scene. But they seem to think it'll be the end of the world if they lose. I just kinda wanted to see the look on his girlfriend's face when i beat that little piece of scrap-metal.

Re: This ever happen to anyone?LONG

It's a sad case of the Fast and Furious Disease. It effects millions around the globe. Suddenly stickers and uneffective wings make you go faster... I respect the Hondas for being nearly bullet-proof. Engine-wise that is, the body is another story. Also, they can get upwards of 400 hp with half the amount of cylinders of a domestic V8. I guess because they are so cheap to supe up is the reason why so many people dont like them. Plus everone and their cousins mother has one. All in all, both domestics and imports rock the world in performance. It beats the hell outta ridin horses around (especially in the winter).

Yeah, if had something similar. I was at a stoplight and someone from school who I have a class with pulls up next to me, so light turns green I go like I normally do, just accelerating normally and all but the guy is like all serious like because I was looking over at him and I notice that he's actually trying to race, so I decide to floor it and he just backs out when we were barely going 40 MPH. Next day at school he's saying that his banged up car can beat mine and the bad thing was that he would go for a rematch. Aint that a bitch..

Yea but atleast he actually TRIED to race you before saying that he could beat you. Unlike my scenario where the person was too chicken-shit to race me but still insists on telling everybody he beat me.
