I WANT AN MR2 (question where goes the subs?)

aight well my new coworker who started working today his dad owns a car shop and so he knows quite abit about cars, and he has some crappy pos ford festiva or somethin but he swapped an mr2 engine in it and its loud as shit

he also said hed look at my car

i was telling him about the mr2 that i linked and he told me he knows a bunch of people selling mr2s for less than that

theres one thats about 25 miles from me (as opposed to the 260 miles away for the other one i was lookin at that needs engine work) and its red i think but ya its got around the same milage he thinks, and its the turbo one but its an after market turbo so its faster and it doesnt need any engine work. and most of all its only 1000 for him atleast, but he said he can hook me up so i can get it for 1000, im gonna check it out sometime

GOD I WANT IT!!!!!!!!!!!! its also 1992

quesiton though, u think there pretty dam fast?

and where cna i put subs? cuz the front doesnt have much room, behind the seats but i think my subs are too uhh long in depth to fit, and i dunno if the trunk is big enough (but u woulnt be able to hear anything since the engine is between u and the subs)

so ya

There are some slim-line subs (like 3 inches deep) on the market made by Blaupunkt that work very well, and the box size requirement is very small. You'll be pleasantly suprised with how good they sound.

I had the sub reverse mounted in this pic so you can see the total depth of the sub: http://www.ncturnal.com/94mr2/misc/sub02.jpg

I've been through various subs in the MR2. I had Diamond Audio before I got the Blaupunkt. http://www.ncturnal.com/94mr2/misc/sub01.jpg The ultrathin subs are one of the best options that will still allow full range with the seat and still enable you to get the t-tops in behind the seats. Other stuff will work, but you will have to sacrifice something, be it leg room or a place for your tops. I don't think the trunk is a very good option for subs.

pioneer also makes a 12" sub that mounts 4" deep. I have built a custom box for mine, and I didn't lose any room, I can fully recline. And you can run power to it from under the center piece in the car, so the wires are hidden. I built an amp rack for the "frunk" so I wired the wires through a little hole in the firewall right behind the brake pedal. I just have one and its plenty bass for me, but if you want a lot of bass, you could even go up to an audiobahn pro comp, which I believe also mount around 4", and they handlt massive power and are good for high SPL amounts.

The Pioneer one's are the exact same concept and sound great. I opted for 10s instead since I already had boxes for the 10s.

The battery is in the frunk (which makes it a good place for your amps) and you have a good bit of room up there.

91-95 have the same amount of space.....mine are 94s. I have custom stuff up there, and even with that, I got a lot up there.

Thanks. I had full size subs in it before (http://www.ncturnal.com/94mr2/misc/sub01.jpg) but you sacrifice leg room and possibly the ability to get the tops behind the seat.

theres tops behind the seat?

well im 5'3 so leg room isnt too much of a deal im sure id end up having like 8 inches of space with the seat pulled up so i can reach the pedals

but my friend hes like 6' so ya hed crush the subs
