My 92 civic is an automatic, and it has 150,000 miles on it. Sometimes it will lose 80% of its power (it doesnt have much to start with either). Usually it goes through first gear fine, but half way through second, at about 30 mph, the rpms stop rising, and it just seems to hover at that speed for a few seconds. At this time the check engine light comes on and it finishes the gear at high rpm's. I took it to a couple garages, and i had the oxygen sensor replaced.... $160, and it did nothing. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

hondas are reliable, so the all those high miles only affect the car if you have done some abusing to it. did you ask the shop to diagnosis it? You can pretty much determine what's wrong if you have done this, so then you won't end up wasting money. Also, take it to a shop with a good rep, a lot of shops give you a load of bull so they can charge you money.

I bet it's your ignitor. I think they only last about 150k miles or so anyways. You might just want to get the whole distributor checked out and see if that whole thing needs to be replaced.
