Question: Buying 93 325i

Hello,

I am considering buying a 93 325i with 200k for about $3,500.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what to watch out for in this particular model before I buy.

Car seems to be in good shape, no leaks that I could see, started right up on a cold day, sounds good when driving and in idol.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Question: Buying 93 325i

SgtBello,
I recently bought a 93 325i with the I6 and automatic (though I would have prefered a 5spd but i'm in the hinterland of Kansas...availability etc) and love it. bot it with 112K and the first thing i'm fixing is the pass frnt wheel berring assy. not too critical right now but safety first rite? Take a road to n from work with a six mile straight away, 0-100 in no time at all!!!
Close to the ride i had with my daughters Audi Coupe Q.which she sold to pay for a 2 hour wedding. call me too pragmatic but...
Also check for an oil leak around the valve cover area. the plastic covers it up and it may show up later on the under side of your hood traveling forward with the air flow in engine compartment the way it does.
could be the pcv valve or seal around the oil filler port. still looking for it.
fun car tho, huh?

Re: Question: Buying 93 325i

Thanks for the reply.

I bought the car about 5 months ago and I love it!!! Very fun to drive and super fast!!

The only thing I had to replace so far has been the fuel lines & fuel filter. One cracked apart when I was driving...... Lost 3/4's a tank in gas getting it to the repair shop and the fumes almost killed me..... EEK

All in all I didn’t think $300 in maintenance was that bad for a 5 month stretch of fun and fast driving. Hoping to put 300k on it before I look to buy another.

Thanks.
