95 Cherokee gate supports
I ordered a new pair of lift gate supports and can't figure out how to replace them It looks like they just pull off, but I'm not sure. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me how to replace them.
Thanks, Mike |

Re: 95 Cherokee gate supports
Mike,
I'm not sure if they are exactly the same as the ones I have on my '92, but if so, you should see a small "wire" like thing going through the socket in the lift supports. At the end of the wire there is a "C" shape that goes over the ball shaft. Push the "C" back over the shaft, and then slide the wire out (should come out easily). Once the wire is removed, the lift supports come straight off. Installation is the reverse of removal. PS. You should have new wires with the new lift supports (look in the bottom of the bag). Take Care,

Re: 95 Cherokee gate supports
Make sure you prop the gate up with something BEFORE you remove any of the supports.

Re: 95 Cherokee gate supports
Hey Guys,
Thanks for the help. I have a stick that props up the gate. I'll use that while I change the supports. Thanks again. Mike |
