Re: launching?
You can get a limited slip differential for your FWD for not a whole lot of money.

Re: launching?
I thought limited-slip differentials were fairly expensive. $400-500 the last time I checked. I'd say just work from the bottom up. Start from a cold start, and then work the rpms up while fiddling with the clutch. You'll definitely find the right rpm's that way.

Re: launching?
well, i gotta 94 3kgt, i usually launch at about 3, a little under. But remember not to slam the gas when you let off the clutch, just leave the gas the way it is until it catches. Theres 2 things that help out alot. For one, the least burn out u do, the better, but a little 'er' is good, that way u dont under do it and bog out. also, u want your car to catch where your torque is at its peak. dont know that stats on that so soemone can help me out there to. but tahts about it, dump the clutch, but dont slam it, just take it easy and ull be fine. also make sure that your tires are good. limited slip diffs. are pretty dam expensive, well it depends who u r. but if ur a good enough driver, u dont need one, bottom line. practice your launches and race him again. your car should blow by him. let me no what happens, peace.

your probably going to attempt to laugh at me since i drive any auto.
Anyways, when launching the FWD, you were right around the correct rpm level. Just kind of rev the rpms back and forth between 2500 and 3000 rpms, and right when your go, let the clutch go enough for it catch some, and then dump it. Can't say that i've mastered it or anything as it takes some practice to do. You want it to catch some so you dont spin before dumping it but you dont want it to catch too long before dumping it or it'll slow you down.
