roll cage

ok well im thinking about getting an 8 point roll cage mainly for chassis stiffness and something to hook my 5 point seat belts to since right now they just hold me to the seat. plus a point roll cage is just like 140.00 or something. ill look for the link to the roll cage in a few minutes. but yeah, the question... sound like a good i dea? , if i do get one should i still get subframe connectors?, are they easy to put in??

Re: roll cage

oh thanks that would have sucked to get it and be missing the main hoop. but im thinking the spohn one is more what i want because its bent for the stock door panels and the one in yearone dosnt say anything about that.

Re: roll cage

I wouldnt think it would be too bad putting in a cage. You just have to cover everything when its being welded and painted. Dont forget to add in the cost of the install. Any idea how much power your making? I would think about putting off the cage unless your making some serious power and youve got a 12 bolt with drag radials. Go with some subframe connectors, strut brace, etc. I just bought a set of spohn SFC's and they are the heaviest built ones ive seen yet. Plus they tie together with the crossmember. Just something to think about.

Re: roll cage

well i was thinking if i get this i wont have to get subframe connectors. plus i need to hook my seatbelts up to it. and it dosnt cost much more then sfc's. and they make the car seem more badass.

tint the back window and have the main hoop run along the rear pillars and painted to match the interior and you wouldnt really notice it, only way to really see it then would be to open the door and let ppl look in.

Re: roll cage

he want the 8 point which goes along the door area. Will be noticable. I wouldnt care about that. A cage looks hot. How much do you think they weigh?

Re: roll cage

the 8 point roll cage goes by the doors but not high enough to see it when the doors are closed. now if you was talking about a 12 point cage then it would be a diffrent story.

Re: roll cage

id still just go with the subframe connectors. Much less of a headache to put in. Worry about a cage when your pushing 500+ hp. Just my opinion though.
