rear brakes

Hi everyone I have a 92 grand prx and just recently put both new calipers in the back with new pads, brakes still dont feel that good... pedal still seems to go further down then it should before it feels hard.Is There anything to fix this ? I thought i read about upgrading to the 94 and up rear brakes ?To Get rid of this stupid design!!..Also I dont have the emergency cables hooked up anymore,cause they were ruining my pads... hanging up or something?So I cut them off,lol is that a problem ? Do you need those to set the brakes up properly? I was told no?

Did you change the rotors along with the pads and calipers? It is possible that the rotors are too thin to do the job properly. Also you may want to re-bleed the brakes as you may still have some air in the system. Finally, it may be possible that the booster is going bad since it it 15 years old.

Hi yes I did... also i did bleed them pretty damn good i thought ,lol... also the booster is from my 91 cutlass worked fine on that .. some days the brakes feel awesome then other days just mediocre?

I would go ahead and bleed them one more time. Sometimes it takes a while for air to build up even though they have been bled. The only other thing I can think of is the possibility that you have a partially blocked line, may be bent or crimped, that is preventing fluid from moving freely.

Thanks I will give it another try then... its been like 3 weeks since i bled them if that helps?

One other thing when i changed front pads the one front capliper didnt slide very easy when i tried to put the pads in, is it possible that it is hanging up and not working right too?

Check your front calipers, if its not working correctly that could be a possible problem.

Monitor your brake fluid level also, if its dropping then check for a leak. But you might have a blocked line or a bad caliper even
