questions about aftermarket wheels
Hi all,
have a couple questions about getting aftermarket wheels & Tires for model kits:

do the fujimi or aoshima wheels fit on tamiya models out of the box or do you have to make them fit? i mean, do you have to modify the wheels for them to fit.
which sites have the best selection & availability? where do you guys get yours. the stores around me only have pimpish wire wheels
any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks! |

Cozmo, the wheels do not fit directly. The Tamiya brake hubs need to be modified ( opened up with a drill bit of the proper size -Donot drill or cut too deep into the plastic !). If the hub isn't deep enough for the large rims, you'll need to modify the suspension to make for the offset of the aftermarket wheels. Sometimes it goes very easily and sometimes very time consuming to get the suspension sitting properly with the right amount of camber, toe alignment.
For a source of rims go to HLJ's website. I think this site has been posted so many times when it comes to the subject of rims. www.hlj.com -Walter |
