I live in Australia and there arnt alot of camaros to choose from and there is 1 for sale near me and i rung the owner and he said that the body and interior are in good condition and its fine mechanically aswell but it wont start becuase its been sititng in a garage for a year.

should i even consider buying the car or what should i look for to make sure it wont cost a fortune to fix?

I'd just like to voice my opinion on this. You will regret getting the v6 version. Check for rust, especially the axle

...I didn't get to do that

Its about $5500 USD might be able to get it for around $5000
whats wrong with the V6?
I wasnt really looking for a V8 becuase of the price of fuel here and insurance.

Ive been looking for some more and have found 2 other possibilities but camaros are pretty rare over here.

5 grand for a v6, where the f*** are you? I'm no expert but, I'll let someone else handle this, for that reason

*edit, oh Australia, didn't even know you had camaros, someone must know the price

Re: What to look for when buying

v6s are slow and very bad on gas. 2.8 is a crapy motor as well.

Also i dont believe in all that bullshit that the car wont start after sitting for year. What can happen to it?? You can start a 60 year old traktor thats been sitting in the freaking field for 30 years. Sounds like crap. Dont buy.

If you pay $5,000 for an '82 Camaro V6 that wont start then I am very worried. For that price it should have a new engine and bascially everything else.
