i have a 1997, Dodge Grand Caravan, "SE"model, the a/c compressor is shot, could i bypass or eliminate the compressor by using a smaller belt ?. as i can't afford to fix it right at the moment, thanks.

in saying that the compressor is shot do you mean that the pulley bearing has siezed or that the compressor itself no longer turns? if the pulley still turns you could just unplug the electric clutch so it is not activated by the interior air controls.
