I'm going to guess the turbo. Good compression, good oil, my guess is the turbo is good and f-ed up. Not sure though, just my 2 cents.

can you explain why it could be the turbo? lol besides the fact it has cracks in the exhaust part and has shaft play? lol

Re: Not the head gasket... read this post
I'm totally stumped and annoyed (at aaron) at this point i think aaron lied to get me into his garage
. On a serious note the only possibility i can think of is if there is a problem with the oil pump and it caused the oil to be frothy. Coolant in the oil wouldn't go away but frothy oil could go away. Aaron was the white/brown stuff seperated from the oil? Cause if it was than it was water based, if not then it was oil.

Re: Not the head gasket... read this post
I thought the oil and coolant got mixed out side of the turbo, maybe. Maybe the turbo was leaking oil and coolant and it got mixed in somewhere. Again, it was a shot it the dark, I dont have much experience with turbo troubleshooting. You need a new turbo anyway, maybe just try a new turbo and see if anything happened.

Re: Not the head gasket... read this post
well on the cap the white stuff was in the middle, and the oil just surronded it.... there was no oil in the white stuff... like i would mix it and the oil would kinda just swirl in.... but the thing you saw on my tranny from the valve cover hose crap, was mixed together and was alot darker, but on the dip stik it was a white smear... seperate to the oil

Re: Not the head gasket... read this post
Well, if you know the turbo is bad and mixing oil and coolant because of bad seals, pull the turbo and either replace it or get it rebuilt. I have a feeling your problem will go away after you get the turbo taken care of.
that is what one of the mods said.... what you guys think? |

Re: Not the head gasket... read this post
Its definity a reason to justify a new turbo for christmass! Frothy oil is typically from ballance shafts coming in contact with the oil. Wich is very unlikely if he didn't over fill his oilpan. Thats a tough one.
