Cant adjust passenger side headlight...
Well after replacing the driver side headlight (the entire unit) I noticed that the passenger side headlight is not alligned properly. When I went to adjust the headlight, the adjusting nobs (dont know what they are technically called) wont budge at all.
What could I use to loosen them? I was thinking WD-40?? Btw I am working on a 1996 GMC Jimmy 4 door if that matters. Edit: Would I be better off replacing the passenger side headlight unit since the drivers side is a little bit brighter? Last edited by dwausa; 12-11-2005 at 07:33 PM. |

Re: Cant adjust passenger side headlight...
Please if anyone can also tell me, how to align the headlights. I mistakenly adjusted mine quite high,
but I can't find any stats on how to align the lights. It is a 98 Jimmy.

The easiest way I have found to adjust headlights is to use the back wall of a garage. pull your jimmy right up to the wall and use masking tape to place an + on the wall that represents the center of your headlights. Back the jimmy up 25 feet(must be level) and turn on the headlights. Low beam should hit 2 inches low and 2 inches to the right(both sides to the right) of the tape +. switch to high beam and the light should hit just below and dead center of the + ,if not use the adjusting screws ( one center top and one center inside of the headlight. any questions PM me and I will try to explain better.
