knocking noise under dash

I have a 93 TC with Automatic Climate Control. There is a knocking noise under the dash that sounds like a door opening and closing really hard. Someimes the heat is uncontrolable and sometimes the heat does not come out where it should. When the AC is on, sometimes only very very hot air comes out of the vents. Usually when the noise stops, everything works OK. Anyone have this problem or know what to do.

Hi GBH, That is the blend door actuator flapping in the dash. Needs replacing. I had this done on my 93 T/C and it was well worth it (eventhough) i paid someone to do it.

Mike2755us, How much did you have to apy and did you take it to a dealreship? I would like to try and do it myself as I am retired and living on a fixed income.

Hi GBH, I had a friend of mine do it when he needed the money gave him 200.00 and i bought the part form the dealer for about 80.00. i seen how much others on the lincoln sites were paying and offered him the cash on the barrel. He said it was fairly easy though just follow that article.
