My car wont start!

Hey everyone, got some questions!:
I drove home from work last week and my car ran just fine, it was about 10 below zero out tho but it was still all good. I work night shift so it was about 8 am when I got home and parked it (only had about 1/4 tank of gas tho). The next night, I went to start it and it just cranked...wouldn't start. So had to hitch a ride for a few days and worked on it quite a bit the last few days. 12-5 I put in about 5 gallons of gas and two bottles of iso-heat. I also put the car in the garage figuring the gas lines were frozen....Next day I put 2 heaters around the car and hooked up a battery charger just for starting it....Still nothing, and had a lot to do so left it. Yesturday I pulled off my entire intake and strut bar, pulled and relaced all the plugs, checked for spark and fuel pressure and everything looks fine, sprayed starting fluid in the intake and on the plugs and put it all back together and still nothing....Just cranks....I don't think its fuel related because I pulled a clip off the the gas line on the fuel rail and it sprayed when we tryed starting it....
Any ideas??!?!? PLEASE!
PS I haven't had any problems before this, has started and run fine for the last three years I've had it. Ill be towing it with a friends truck this week probley to a dealership but dont wana spend alot on it if I dont have too plus it is a '93 Mazda MX-6 LS V-6 5spd but has 210k mi on it....

Re: My car wont start!

you may want to try testing for a signal at the fuel injectors, you can do this with an analogue volt meter or a noid light. attach the noid light or the volt meter probes in the injector plug and have an assistant crank the engine, if there is a signal the light will flash or the needle on the volt meter will bounce.

you could also have a weak ignition coil, which can be the worst to diagnose because there will be a small spark present but it is not strong enough to start the engine. a good ignition coil should produce a visible spark about 1/4" - 1/2" long (i've seen some give a spark up to 1 1/4" long). in other cases the ignition coil is good but the ignition module is bad (usually there is no spark present), most auto stores can test your ignition module for free. i think they can test ignition coils too.

when all else fails you could go talk to the service people at a dealership, usually they are nice enough to give the do it yourselfer information, just be prepared to wait a while.

Re: My car wont start!

Yah, I bought a new distributor, but I went to the parts store and gave him the old one when I ordered my new one...and the guy was a) an ass, and b) didnt tell me that I would also need a cap and rotor, so instead of finishing my car this wk end I have to wait to do it till thursday after work.......too bad we dont get discounts for sales people being idiots...plus he was the parts manager so youd think hed even ask if I wanted those replaced to get more moola....oh well, its my fault 2 i know.....
