Changing DIC

I have a 98 GP SE with the basic DIC. Is it possible to Change it to one like the GT or GTP that does feul mileage and all that? If it is how so. Thanks.

Re: Changing DIC

Do a search in this forum for DIC.

I haven't heard of any successful conversions to the upgraded DIC from a SE model. Some GT owners have switched to a GTP DIC but not without possible wiring mods, etc. and a lot of work.

To start you'll need to remove the dash bezel and the DIC. Look behind the DIC for a second wiring harness and electrical connector which may be wrapped in foam in the back of the dashboard wiring harnesses. Without this harness I don't think the conversion is feasible.

Re: Changing DIC

it can be done, but you may have to splice in some wires maybe as far back as the c100 firewall connector. that is, if you don't have the second harness mentioned above
