Bad gas

Well, I'm heading home for a couple of weeks so its time to brek out the old beater. My '86 hasnt been fired up in over a year so I'm kinda wondering about the gas, do you guys think its turned to crap in the tank already? As far as I know it had a half tank of premium in it when I parked it, but it may only have a quarter. It's been parked indoors though. I'm going to change the oil and prime the pump, and change the tranny fluid and filter because by now theres no oil or tranny fluid in it. Anything else I'm forgetting?

Re: Bad gas

I would probably get a bottle of fuel treatment, "I really like Lucas tune up in a bottle fuel treatment". And maybe change the fuel filter and go from there. It seems like you have everything else covered...

Re: Bad gas

personally I wouldnt really worry about it too much a year isnt that long really. I've put year old gas in my two-stroke dirt bike that pings like a little B*&#h when it doesnt have sufficient octane but it never did with year old gas. Although if you really want to it would be too hard to empty your tank since you're gonna be under there anyways.
