Cool Satalite Radio & 03 Tundra

I have a 2003 Tundra with a 6 cd AM/FM radio. Is there an Aux output on the back of the radio for a direct hook up for a Sirius satalite radio?

Re: Satalite Radio & 03 Tundra

There are no direct auxiliary rca inputs, but there is a spot on the radio to plug in a factory cd changer. PIE and a couple of other companies make an auxiliary input converter that can be plugged into this port. The converter will have the RCA inputs on it. Once it is hooked up and your satellite plugged in, you just push the 'DISC' button on your head unit twice and it will send the satellite signal through your head unit. This is a much cleaner sound than the fm modulator.

I did this with XM radio on my 05 Tundra DC and it works great. The PIE converter for your year model and later is the TOY03-AUX model and costs around $70. I would recommend going down to Radio Shack and getting a ground loop isolator (Model: 270-054 ) which already has the mini jack plug for your sirius radio and sends the signal through the noise filter and out to the two rca connections. It is about $17. You have to buy a cable that would convert from mini jack to rca anyway ($20 for the monster cable), and this device is cheaper and takes the potential for alternator whine out (I had that problem with the monster cable adapter I initially had and the new ground loop isolator fixed it perfectly).
