Re: Radiator support bolts?

What year is your truck? That may make a difference.

Are you trying to remove the rad saddle?

On the 82'-93' S10 trucks there are:

A. (2) main bolts at the bottom that bolt to the frame supports.
B. (4) bolts for each fender - (3) on the front and (1) on top.
C. (3) bolts on the bottom on each side to support the front of the inner wheel well.
D. (4) small bolts connecting the top fan shroud to the rad support.

They are reached from the front, behind the bumper.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Radiator support bolts?

Now I have a NEW problem...the left bolt from the bottom connecting to the frame is stripped on both sides, can you believe that luck? the hardest bolts on the whole front end, one is stripped, so right now everything is off except that...I guess some serious liquid wrench and prayers? any other ideas?>

Vice-grips or a Torch.

Re: Re: Radiator support bolts?

How do you torch a bolt out? I have drilled one out before but that seems unlikely in this specific case, even vice grips as an option is kinda slim because of the bolt locations and the fact that the body is twisted up from the collision leaving little room to work...I know I have a small propane torch laying around, but not actual torches....just wondering thank you

Re: Radiator support bolts?

Just like you would cut steel. Heat it up, and cut it out.

Re: Radiator support bolts?

Try using a grinder with a cut-off wheel on the bolt head underneath the truck. Cut the bolt head in half, or quarters, then use a pry bar or air chisel to remove the bolt.

If your not going to save the rad support then you can cut it, pry it to get to the bolt. Take out some of your frustrations on it !!!!!

Your propane torch will not work, the flame is to small and not hot enough.
