Question Sedona central locking

I`m selling a Sedona 2001 for my brother who has recently emigrated (nothing to do with the problem, just to let you know it`s not my car)
When I started it after being sitting idle for approx. 2 weeks, a whistling noise from the dashboard area caught my attention also a clicking noise from the driver`s door panel, found out that the central locking unit under the dashboard was the problem, I have disconnected it meantime using the key to lock/unlock the doors. What sort of problem do I have?
Could it be a faulty key fob battery(hopefully)???

Key Fob battery isnt going to cause that. Its an electrical problem no doubt. Possible shorted wiring. I have seen failed door lock actuators also. Also have seen problems with the ETACS. Which controls most electrical functions in the Sedona.

Thanks for that, now I am undecided whether to source and fix the problem or just leave it?
