Rear Defogger

I've got a 92 SC2 and my rear defogger doesnt work. what are any possibilities to check out? please start from the simplest to the hardest. and please explain as you would a child completely oblivious to how to do any of this. thanx

Mine didn't work either on my 95. I found one of the electrical tabs had come loose from the window grid on the passenger side. I managed to solder it back on and so far, works fine. I wouldn't recommend a novice tackle the soldering part. It was frustrating so say the least.

Yours could be a blown fuse, bad switch, or a broken defroster grid line (or multiple). I'm sure there are other possible causes as well but that's what I would check first.

If one of the tabs have broken loose and you don't know how to solder well, I would suggest replacing the back glass. @$250+

is the grid line like a set of christmas lights? if one or multiple lines go out the whole thing does?

the grid runs in parallel, if one branch has a open the others remain active.

there's repair kits for broken defroster grids or broken connectors at your local parts stores...
