96 gt question

Hi, my sister just got a 96 mustang gt for her 16th b-day. It only has 40k miles on it. I pulled up a carfax on it, says its been in 2 minor accidents. The cars performance doesnt seem as good as I would think. It runs great and smooth; shifts fine... I've driven a 05 v6 stang and i think the 05 would beat it. I drive a 99 trans am. I already know my car can beat her 4.6. I havnt raced it yet, but i've driven it. When I floor it, it gets up and goes, but it still seems way way to slow. My T/A goes that fast without touching the gas. Just wondering what the HP is on it and the q mile times. Thanks

Re: 96 gt question

those early 4.6 motors only have like 225hp, or that one may have 215.

well i can tell you one thing that i think will make a big difference is just get some new heads, the ones on it suck ass, the 99-04 gt's make more hp and a large part of it is the heads, they have PI heads, which stand for performance improved.

Re: 96 gt question

Ya, those years are really down on power.

Like what was mentioned, heads and intake will really wake it up. Keep the 99 T/A, very sharp auto.
