engine problems

Ok when i crank my car up it like revs itself up then it will idle back down very low then back up then the check engine light comes on and then it will run just perfect. It will also make this poping noise then i rev it up to about 5K and it will stopp. And also my car smokes bad really bad i changed the oil in it and still have the same problem. Help would be very good.

Re: engine problems

with the car running, look under the carpet where the passenger would put there feet and there should be a light blinking, count how many times. it will blink up to a # then pause for a sec and repeat. look here http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=118785 (the 5th post down) to find out what the code means

Re: engine problems

It's your MAP sensor, not the manifold.
Edit: http://www.crxpower.net/~silverkorn/...hop_Manual.pdf Go to page 133, and get a volt meter.

Re: engine problems

convert to MPFI and rewire for it, get a new distributor with the correct sensor, get a new ECU, drop engine in.

Re: engine problems

does the d16y7 come with a distributor?

there are no mpfi conversion kits out there, you gotta make your own

you basically need:

mpfi intake mani complete injectors, fuel rail, tb
mpfi distributor
resistor box if going obd0
mpfi ecu
having a wiring harness for whatever obd you are goign to put in there really helps.

with on that list i put above does the y7 come with any of those things already?
