93 maxima fog light question

I have a 93 Maxima with fog lights. But i cant figure out how to get them to work. The fog lights are there but there is no way to turn them on. There is a button right next to the rear defroster button on the dash but the button cannot be pressed. It has no picture or anythign on the button to le tme know that is where the fog light button is. I hope i am explaining this clearly.

DO i have to wire them or something. I am not sure where to go.

As u can see i am a complete newbie.

thanks again

Re: 93 maxima fog light question

I have the same problem with my 3rd gen. That button next to the rear defrost on mine is to dim/brighten the guage lights. I am still trying to figure out how to get my fog lights on too.

Possible explanations:
- behind foglamp lookalike-lenses, emptiness - as Tonys aphorism; no bulbs, wires, ctrl, no beef. [SE-model has fog relay (no.1), in GXE its missing, see below]
- theres hidden fog radar which ctrls lamps. Wait for thick fog to verify...
- u have to get the right fog-code, tap it in via haz button to activate foggies...

My Merry Christmas wish is, that u both find THE switch & bulbs & info. You will find all (incl Merry Christmas) if u read carefully: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/5

FSM page EL-36 has the schema; fuse R13, and yes, a switch. They receive power via fusebox near battery. Pwr goes through main light switch (which has to be on), these 2switches activate the foglamp-relay (under water reservoir). Switch location /configuration info: total blk hole.

Re: 93 maxima fog light question

Hey, what kind of fuses do they take? I can check to see if my fog lamp one is done. Ill just pull the horn one out and stick it in there to see if it works, if that wont do anything, and if that works, I'll just buy another fuse.

P.S. there is no fuse where my inhibitor is. Is that the same thing as a governor?

Re: 93 maxima fog light question

O nvm, I see that it is something different, what does that do? If I put a fuse in, what will happen differently?
