abs light on

I have a 2001 Grand Cherokee Limited the abs light came on, it's the only light on and the brakes feel fine. Any ideas? Can you run a code on this with a obd2 scanner?

Re: Re: abs light on

It's probably one of your abs sensors. they are easy to replace. if your light is on, you may not have abs which would be evident if you tried to stop on a slippery surface like snow or water. you should feel the pulsation of the brakes instead of a steady skid.

You have to have a Scanner one that is ABS capable. Does the light come on all the time or does it only come on after the vechile is moving if it is the latter it probally is a wheel sensor, if the light comes on and stays on all the time it is probally in the Modulator, ABS valve body or motor. Hard to tell with the codes.
