rsx-s vs GTP

Yesterday i was on the highway and i saw this red GTP right in front of me. So i went beside it and i start to rav. my car , he pulls it and we started to race at 70 mph; so i push my 3rd until 150 kms, 4th until 180 and 5th until 205... i smoked the guy! After we were both heading downtown and ironicly we both hit the same red light The passenger of the GTP asked me how many horses that ive got and i told him that the the only thing that had was a CAI so i told him around 205. Than the driver asked me if i wanted to go for it! Let's go: The road was a bit slippery so we both didn't get good grip but he was a bit faster than the first time but i was getting some ground and we had to stop. The second time, he was again in front of me for the first 50 meters but after we hit 50 mph he was two car behind..So the race was fun but the car looked like it was a 97-98. Maybe it would be different if the car would of be more recent, but i was suprised of the performance considering the weight of this Pontiac..

Sorry to disappointing you Knorwj, there is no doubt about it, i beated the GTP on the highway, and yes the guy was also racing, and yes it was a real GTP (supercharged)and finally, if a dude doesn't know how to race with an automatic, it's he's f*****g problem.
But like said, he was a bit faster than me for the first 50 meters(around that).

They can run high 14's or maybe better if you learn to launch them. They are buggers but make boatloads of torque and will pull an rsx from a stop and at least give it a fight from a roll.

Not to mention a few bolt on's and they are in the 13's. Factory s/c pwns.:/

I saw a vid a while back of one with just a 3" dp, u bend delete, and slp loudmouth running neck and neck with an s2k w/ I believe just a catback. I really need to save my videos for times like this.

oh believe me i'm not saying you didn't win, all i'm saying is that I would assume he would be closer to you than 2-3 car lengths. either way its the street~shit happens.

to the previous poster: believe me I know what they are capable of stock and modified, I have been researching them for awhile now and may get one as a replacement to the gs-r someday soon. they are by far a very very lethal sleeper. There is a guy on AF here that is running mid 11's with the stock motor and only bolt ons and fuel management I believe. The 3800 S/C is very very responsive to mods. With a very minor amount of money you will be smoking low 14 second cars.... in a FF automatic family sedan

I like them more than the camry for comfort and styling. I might try and get a gt come this spring(which is quick enought for me, and can bat off the ocasonal ricer), but I don't want to commit to having to pay the higher insurance rate for the GTP or premium feul, quite yet.


Later on in it's life, I could always turbo it and swap in a 4t65e with the help of some friends. Call me a ricer, but the slp catback sounds pretty damn cool on those things. I might be happy with it just like that.>_>

Yeah i know, i didn't expect it could of beat me , especialy on the start, the car is so big!!! That's what i hate about mine, no torque at all!!!

Et je ne crois qu'une type-s soit une voiture lente et laide! C'est une voiture qui offre une fiabilité inégalable et une économie d'essence hors du commun. De plus ,les performances qu'offre la rsx-s sont très bien si on compare avec la plupart des voitures de sa catégorie!

Looking at the cars in it's category, that isn't saying much.:P
j/k, your car is faster than either of mine by far, but need I mention ion redline, cobalt ss, srt-4?:P

I like the rsx; sounds nice and I def. enjoy having one, but I'm trying to grow out of the torqueless wonders no matter how quick they can be up top. too much low mph city slicking here to enjoy those cars. Not to mention the RSX seems to be priced more towards the Mustang GT than the sport compacts. Must be the option list and 'Acura' name.:/

And yes I suck at French. It doesn't matter, English is better. French has cooties.:P
