Post running out of gas??

I ran out of gas in my Chrysler Sebring.... Now it won't crank. I did put some gas back in it. Not sure if I put enough??? but will I mess up anything by just adding gas and trying to start car?

If you put "enough" gas in the tank (more than a gallon) it should start but may need you to pump the gas pedal while turning the key.....you wo't hurt anything in the car.
