Thanx nismo power- ithought it was illigal it sounded like the kit car scam as before...

although i wonder if you were to get a shell over here- and put in say 70's laguana seats and a 350 out of chevelle laguana - and register it as a laguana. kinda like you would register an old rat rod uner the oldest part it has on it...

btw nismo do you know of anyone that makes a fiberglass body of these for racing purpouse only? you know lik eyou can get a full fiberlgass body of say a 69' camaro.

kit car scam now,i really heard it all.im still trying to figure out who started saying kit cars.there is no such thing a s aKIt car title.before you guys start talking and posting about kit cars.find people who have kit cars and ask to se there titles.its a regular title,it doesnt say nothing to the fact of the words kit car, replica what ever u want to call it.

and your asking Nismo power who never imported anything related in his life and is forum educated. its like a person who needs an operation asking a med student and not a lic doctor with years under his belt

Re: Re: is this even legal?

People can say whatever they want. The truth is very simple and comes straight from Clint Lindsay or Coleman Sachs (at the DOT) mouths.

Cars disassmbled and imported as rolling chassis or parts cannot be reassembled to drive on public roads.

If you do, and you get caught, you will lose the car, get a fine, and possibly jail time.

With more and more states taking a much more active role in controlling aftermarket modifications to vehicles, it is becoming more and more likely that questionable vehicles (like these) will eventually be investigated.

Take your chances if you so wish....but don't claim its legal when it clearly isn't.

No, because he said cars disassembled and imported. The Noble is sent directly from the factory prior to assembly, and is imported legally through the Kit Car policy.

There half an half really. My friends dad might buy a 3R if he doesn't sit well with the new carrera. The noble is pre weld at the factory and sent here in 2 piece's (body & transaxel) but it does conform to the kit car policy.

As far as importing goes if it's legal it's legal if some idiot wants it bad enough they will have it! Seems to be dealer plates are whats up and new now a days.
