Project downforce - Subaru Impreza WRX STi

this is what i have been working on past couple of weeks. this is the subaru impreza from tamiya. i am gonna tune it with lots of aero parts.

dont mind that big hole in the middle of the hood cuz its gonna be filled. the wing is not yet finished as it needs putty on it. the front is pretty much done exept i need some puuty on the sides.
and the white dot on the right front wheel is just dust.

this car will have custom 3d gt-wing, big front wing, side diffusers, rear diffuser, and a cf hood , trunk, mirrors.
the wheels are the nismo LM-GT2, the exhaust is scratchbuild, the sterring wheel is from a viper, the decals are from the amt supra.
the color will be gloss black or semi gloss black.
right now every thing is mocked up.

Project downforce you say, now would that involve a wing or two..?

Man that is one huge-ass GT-wing, but it looks great, so does the front "lip". Good luck on this one!

Looking good!

Hi if you don't mind me asking, how do you lower this car? I have this kit and it seems to be impossible to lower it without major modifications to the molded in suspension.

Looks cool, but if I were you I'd cut the sides of the wing a bit, to line them up with the sides of the car. But that's only me. Keep up your good work!

Cool project.

About that wing. It's humongous! Looks a bit unbalanced but since it's not near finished nor painted I may be jumping the gun.

Any of you guys old enough to remember the TV show "The Flying Nun"?

That wing reminds me of Sally Field playing Sister Bertril.

Gawd I hope the link works...

Like the rest said. The rear spoiler is a bit big, looks appropriate for 1:18 not 1:24 IMO.

Re: Project downforce - Subaru Impreza WRX STi

i will probably keep the wing this size. i might sand the ends a bit later when the putty is on. the wing will stay about this size because this is called "project dwonforce".........means that i need a big wing.........

Re: Project downforce - Subaru Impreza WRX STi

Looks good. Even tho this is "project downforce" the rear wing stick out toooo much. Looks like you nabed it from a 1/18scale car.
Other than looks A okay.
