Get a belt removal tool (basically a long bar wrench, if you don't have one, Autozone will lend one to you for a small fee, then reimburse you when you return it) Open hood and look near the radiator behind the fans, there should be a labeled diagram showing where the tensioner pully is, and what direction to put the new belt. Loosen the tension by holding and bar (the diagram should also show what direction to turn your bar wrench to loosen tension), remove old belt, loosen tension again, install new belt. Check to make sure the belt is flush with all of the pullies. Start the car, making sure all the pullies are funtioning properly, drive around the block a couple time, and inspect again just to be safe. That's it!

Does the 97 have the same motor mount that one bolt has to be taken out of like my 98 has?

If so that's a complication. REquires taking off the right front wheel and splash plastic panel to gain easy access to the nut and stud that have to be removed. The motor needs to be supported slightly.

My dealer did it differently when I paid them to have mine done. But I think someone here has posted the routine if yours has the motor mount problem for lower belt removal.

Loekee has it right. I use a torgue wrench with appropriate hex size socket to loosen (pull over) the tension pully and get the old belt off. reverse proceedure to re-install, heh.

Does the 97 have the same motor mount setup the 98 has?
