There are pages of codes! What code are you getting? You have a scanner, the tables of codes come with it!

Good luck

Re: anyone have the codes for 1999 Astro?

Drop over in the Blazer forum and run a search or look around. There is or was a list of codes posted there.
It would be more simple to just tell us what code you need along with what engine and trans and what the problem is.
It makes life a lot more fun that way.

Well, I was just gonna do this:

You should be able to pull the code or codes yourself. All you need is a really expensive OBD I diagnostic tool called a paper clip.
Below the dash, to the left of the steering column you will find the assembly line data link.
goto this link for a diagram http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiB...23d801188ba.jsp
Bend your paper clip, er diagnostic tool, into a hair pin. With The Engine OFF. plug one end of the clip into terminal A and the other into Terminal B.
Turn the ignition key to the "on" position. DO NOT Start the Engine.
The service engine light will flash one time, then two times. This is a code 12. It will repeat this sequence again two more times. This indicates the PCM is working correctly. The next series of flashes will give you the codes, for example two flashes followed by three flashes is a 23. The PCM will flash each code stored three times. When you see the code 12 again, the PCM has returned all the codes.
If you don't get it the first time, repeat the process. The codes remain stored until cleared. The codes remain stored even if the service engine light only lit for a short while.
Once you've pulled the codes and corrected the problem, the pcm can be cleared by disconnecting one of the battery cables for a minute.
Pull the code or codes and post your findings here. I have, and many others here have the list of trouble codes.

then find out what the code was. I just wanted to have it in advance instead of having to wait for a reply on here.

The problem happened yesterday. I was on the highway in the fast lane doing about 50 mph in the heavy snow we got. I was going up a slight incline when I noticed that I had no power (it had died.) So I managed to get over a lane, push the hazard button, but I couldn't get the van to start again. I was SO scared! All these trucks were coming at me, swerving to get around me! It was snowing like crazy and I SWEAR the salt trucks had done nothing!! Luckily, a state trooper pulled up behind me. He had to stop about 3 or 4 lanes of traffic. I got it to start but it was sputtering. I got it over on the shoulder. My husband was on his way to work and saw me. We left the van there for the day. When we went and picked it up after he got off of work it ran fine.

Any ideas as to why it would just suddenly stall like that? I think, and hubby thinks too, that it needs a tune-up, but geeeez, that was pretty bad. Alternator?

You can't do that on 96 and newer vehicles (OBD II), you have to use a scanner. AutoZone will read the codes for free. (Some Advance Autos will, too.) Get the codes and comeback post them so we can help you. Don't listen to the advice given at AutoZone or Advance Auto, those guys are cashiers, not technicians/mechanics. They often cause people to waste a lot of time and money by offering asinine advice and suggesting unneeded repairs.

Well I'll be, I've offically been quoted. That was my post about the paper clip. Blazee is correct - only works on OBD I.
