Re: Weird Clutch Noise
vaccum leaks number one reason for surge issue probably...look at the hoses and see which one is cracked...for clutch think drive it out of first drop it in second and smash on the gas and you will be able to tell if it slips....

to check for slipping you could also, driving like 15 mph put it in 4th gear and accelerate. if clutch slips you will feel it!!. For surging idle you also could try cleaning out IACV with some TB cleaner & Beeding coolant system of air as this would also cause idle to surge. If it surges pretty rapidly back and forth i would say vacumn leak as YZ125rider21 mentioned.

Re: Weird Clutch Noise
ok, the first two posts are alright, but try to keep from thread jacking guys, use the PM button.
The "weird" noise coming from your tranny is most likely the throw out bearing, a slipping clutch doesn't make any noise, just doesn't engage as quick as it should. If its the throw out bearing, i would go ahead and get a clutch kit and replace everything while you have it out, the throw out bearing will come with the kit. As for the surging, the other 2 guys are right, and that should fix that problem.

hey CrxBaybee does it sorta get louder sometimes, in first and second usually, and its when u start to accellerate?
but then again, sometimes it doesnt make the noise? (but usually does) cause if so, thats what mine does. if its the throw out bearing, how hard is it to replace. just did the cv axles and installed coilovers without too much difficultly... thanks Dan |

Re: Weird Clutch Noise
yeah you are kinda vague on the noise.
if its a throwout bearing out will only hear it when the clutch is pressed in. it could also be a pilot bearing to. Either one of the two means you have to remove the tranny. and for the pilot bearing you have to also remove the clutch and flywheel. not too hard of a job at all.
