06 engine
I just got the new 06 350z. I was just wondering what the difference between the 287 HP and 300 HP cars.

Re: 06 engine
Biggest difference you might notice if you are tuning the engine or adding some gauges, is the wideband O2 sensors.
If buying a Air/fuel gauge watch out for that (I didn't )Onno |

Re: 06 engine
The 300hp VQ35DE is a new version called the 'Rev Up.' It revs higher, up to a full 7000rpm(vs 6400rpm in other versions). Changes include:
*A revised intake system *Stronger internals(connecting rods and crankshaft) *Exhaust Continuously Variable Cam Timing(vs just on the intake side in other versions) The engine produces 300hp and 269lb-ft. Although the peak torque figure is lower than the older version, it is produced across a wider rpm range. The higher redline also allows a driver to stay in a certain gear longer, which is useful on a race course.

Re: 06 engine
The 287hp varieties redline at 6600rpm, not 6400. The new rev-up produces 260ft-lbs of torque, not 269.
