95 Grand Am starting issues

Recently my son's grand am wouldn't start. 2.3 l DOHC The car turns over fine but doesn't fire. I can't hear the fuel pump humm at the turn of the key. I'm suspecting the pump may be gone but I would like to check the other steps first. I checked the fuse and it proved to be ok. I looked under the hood to locate the relay and I had no luck to the location. I reviewed the wiring diagram but still couldn't trace it. What is typical for this problem? Is it usually the pump, relay etc. Brand new ECM a month or so. I'm way to familiar with the coil pack and the dumb design in the housing. Help! I know this car pretty well, but I'm stumped here.

[color=darkorange][font=arial]Have you tried flood starting it by holding the gas down as you crack it over?

Have you used some starter fluid or checked the schrader valve to verify that it is a fuel problem? Fuel line isn't frozen? if it's the fuel pump, hope the tank isn't full !!!! I have a 2000 grand am. the pump went out one day. I droped the tank, pulled the pump, disconnected the delivery line and tapped the unit with a rubber mallet until it started to flow. still working 2 years later.

Is the security light flashing? Maybe tripped the passlock system?

95 didint' have passlock. If you can't hear the fuel pump and the fuse is ok, check the relay its located on the passenger side of the firewall. Swap the 2 that look alike, they are fuel and ac. If that solves the problem then its the relay. If that doesn't fix it, its probably the fuel pump.
