2000 S10 2.2L Computer Question

Ok, about two weeks ago I "thought" I had a fuel pump problem. I got some help in a thread when it happend, and I really appreciated it. The advice really helped me switch out my pump and check my relays and fuses. But I still couldn't get the fuel pump to turn on, so I was reduced to take the truck into Chevy for a diagnostic.

My friend was going help me tow it in to the service department, and we had been working on my truck in his garage and thats where the truck had been sitting until this afternoon when we went to take it in. Just for the hell of it I decided to try starting it one last time, just in case...and I'll be damned, it fired right up. Now, this thing would not kick the fuel pump on for about a week, after trying time and time again. But then the truck sat for an entire week, without anyone touching it or anything, and now it works like a champ. So I have a question about computers and how they reset themselves, or even if they reset themselves.

Did my computer need to clear a code in order to register things properly? What the heck happened?

The PCM turns on the fuel pump relay.
For 30 second prime when key is turned on and while cranking or when the pcm recieves a ign signal.
The PCM reset or code clear should not change fuel pump relay control or on and off of fuel pump.
The gray from fuel pump relay feeds fuel pump 12 volts power to run it.
It would have been nice if you could have checked it when it would not go.
Keep a test light and a fused 12 volt jumper handy and test the gray fuel pump wire at the fuel pump relay if it quits again. Tap into the gray wire with 12 volt fused jumper and see if fuel pump runs.
Also if another relay is the same part no switch relays with something else.

if your horn works, switch relays with that and see if the horn still works. make sure ALL fuses are good. you can test power going into the relay on the switch side, should be 12v all the time (on the bottom of the relay are numbers, 87 and 30 are the switch side and the other two are the control side). check the control side signal and ground, signal should show up when you turn the key on. just use the test light as a load to check the control side. let us know how it turns out and we will go from there.

Thanks for the feedback guys, but this poses another question, if my truck now works (runs), would I be able to see anything wrong?
