Random high idol in park 98' Taurus
Hello, after driving around and parking or putting the car in neutral the idol will slowly rise to about 3k and just sit there until I turn the car off, once I restart the car the idol goes back to normal. The problem is intermitent and only happens about once every five times I drive the car. Any info on what the problem could be is greatly apreciated.

maybe it is revving to fuel the fan when it's hot, or you have the ac on, or the battery needs to be charged.
or it's ford's secret plan to waste gasoline! |

Out of all the things you just suggested, the "ford's secret plan to waste gasoline" seems to be the most plausable. I'm guessing its a bad sensor somewhere, but I'm not sure which one it could be or where to start checking.
