ALEROs
If you can afford the extended warranty DO IT!!!
With American cars such as Aleros' you'll need it. Problems are one thing Engineering short-sightedness are another!!! Last edited by jratism; 12-15-2005 at 02:27 PM. |

Re: ALEROs
Well, honestly, if you look at the number of problems reported for new vehicles in 2004 in their first 90 days of ownership, Oldsmobile was just below the industry average. Granted that doesn't fix the problems some of us are having with our vehicles, but it still shows there are worse cars out there...even Japanese ones. Yep, that's right. Subaru was ranked something like 5th from the bottom. Volkswagen, Volvo and Saab all were ranked lower than Oldsmobile...

Re: Re: ALEROs
Getting an extended warranty to go beyond the bumper to bumper warranty makes sense on any car not just an Alero. Of course, it depends on the cost and type coverage. A lot of extended warranty plans leave a lot to be desired. Too many disclaimers or you wake up one day and find out that the underwriting company went out of business, etc. and you wasted $1000.

Re: ALEROs
Or find they don't cover cosmetic issues that can cost and arm and a leg...such as warping dash pads and door panels in the Aleros. A dash replace runs around $1000 and a door panel replacement is between $400 and $500.
