turbo for 2001 Z24

i was just wondering if anyone knew of a company that DOES make a turbo kit for the 2001 Z24, and if not, than does anyone know where i can buy a T3 turbo and all the piping and stuff to do the job myself? im good with welding and custom fabbing so not too concerned about getting my hands dirty with the job... thx a lot

For the love of god, do a search. Google it or go to the Little Black J Body book should give you a few vendors or eBay can get you some of the parts.

Re: turbo for 2001 Z24

when it comes to turbos, i would ONLY buy new if you want it to be 100% as reliable as possible. I had the same problem...save a hundred or so or buy a new turbo w/ a warrantee......spend the extra...

If you want to figure out what turbo is right for you then you need to check out my half-done write up,.......

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=490574

go down a little and there is a step by step that shows you how to figure out the turbo you need for your application.

Re: turbo for 2001 Z24

a t3 turbo is kinda small. you can run a t3/t4 easily. i don't believe any makes a set kit for the car but many before you have done it so your gonna have to go custom on this one. custom isn't always cheap though you really gotta shop around good on ebay. just becarful cause theers a lot of scammers on there. your gonna need a turbo manifold which theer are after market makers, custom downpipe and custom intercooler piping. not mention an intercooler. try getting a used srt-4 intercooler they are front mounts and fairly good. for exhaust i would run nothing smaller the 2.5". your gonna need a new clutch too cause yours won't last long. lastly a method to tune timing, fuel and air. witch sadly to say there aren't any easy tools for a cavy. if your gonna run low boost you can use a afc from apexi. and then you need to retard your timing some too. you havea long road ahead of you.
