hi im in the uk and have a 79 econoline, the drivers side axleshaft is bent and i need another one. iv allready done lots of searches and calls and got not a lot. so can someone please help me out. ive allready done lots of work to this van and woul not like to give it up now.

Can you tell us if the axle has a rear cover bolted to it? If NOT, you should be able to EASILY get an axle made for it cheaply (less $$ than shipping on from the states) as it is a " 9 inch Ford" rear axle. If it does have a rear cover, it could be a 7.5" or 8.8", and I do not know how to tell them apart (for sure) on the older vehicles.

thankyou for the reply. the axle is a ford 9 inch. the diff comes out of the front. anyway its the lefthand axle shaft im after. i have since been in contact with a truck breakers in the us who has shaft which seems to have the right measurements. its in the post, along with a squillion items of xmas stuff so ill get it sometime in the not to distant future. i do hope its the right onerate full for your interest. thanks.
