Another tint question

ok, i got another tint question, but one i dont think has been asked. i would like to do about a 15% all around and i would like to know if i can take the tint of the rear window, or can it only be applied over. applying it over only seems like it would make it uneven looking, even if you try to offset the %'s.

To my knowledge you cannot remove the factory tint. Tint over it with a tiny piece and see if it changes it. One more thing NEVER use anything that contains anmonia to apply or clean your windows with tint. It will turn the tint PURPLE!! Use only soap and water.

Re: Re: Another tint question

The factory rear glass on this trucks are stain glass. You will no be able to remove the tint unless you replace the glass. It's very hard to match the tint so it even all the way around. Here in Hawaii the 2 front windows can only be tinted with 15%. Anything more you could get a ticket. Everthing behind the driver seat can be as dark as you can stand it. This only holds on trucks, and not on cars. I have 15% on the front windos and 35% in the rear. I just like it as dark as possible. My feeling is. What you don't see, You don't want. Never had any breakins in any of my cars.

Re: Another tint question

A really good shop in town uses something called onyx 238 tint- I don't know the manufacturer. He claims it'll be so close to the factory tint that you would never notice a difference

Re: Another tint question

I recently had the same problem. I had my front windows tinted with 35% which isn't much. Well i went back to the shop a couple weeks later and had another layer of 35% and it's ALMOST a perfect match at 12% (35%*2=12%) But i've always been real picky with stuff not matching but i'll have to say i am satisfied with mine.

So u doubled up a set or 35%'s and it looks good. From the out side my 35% up front its looks perfect on my 97 blazer when comparing the front windows w/ the others, but on the inside the front windows have a blueish tint to them compared to the factory stained glass in the back. were u saying that the inside matches well or the outside?

Re: Another tint question

15% tint matches the back window tint perfectly.

I had it myself until a prick young pig thought he would be super cop and pull me over for having it on.

It doesn't matter, they can't do anything, you have the signal lights in your front bumper as well.

Re: Another tint question

Yea, the dink that got me fined me over 120 dollars and a 72 hour notice to remove it.

He gave me the ticket on a Friday evening, now what shop is available to remove tint on the weekend?

No it is in the courts and I am fighting it seeing if it does go through my insurance will go up.
